Fishing the Run-Off
Late Feb > End May
The best time to target both numbers of barra and big barra.
Lodge based trips 3-8 days long in World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. Watty is one of only 3 commercial operators permited to fish in the pristine and abundant waters of both the East and South Aligator rivers. No crowds and plenty of fish await.
Fishing the Build-Up
3-8 days of fishing the best build up locations in the top end with a focus on Bynoe Harbour, Dundee beach and Kakadu.
All the big species including sight casting barra in clean shallow water to test your casting skills!
Explore beautiful billabongs of the South Alligator river and the magnificent escarpment country of the East Alligator river.
Watty is also the only specialist fly fishing guide in the Top End.
Fly trips run in both run-off and builid-up seasons.
From big river run off Barra and King Threadfin to Longtail Tuna, Spanish Mackerel, Saratoga, Queenfish, GT and all the rest of them!

Itinerary
Availability

Day 1- travel to the fishing location after airport or hotel pickup in Darwin. Settle in to lodgings for afternoon pickup or get on the water for morning pickup.

Day 2-7 Full days of fishing 0600-1600 then back to the lodge for a swim / meal / rest.

Last day, two options.
-
1: Off the water at 1300, head back to Darwin.

2: Full day fishing, travel back to Darwin the following morning.

These trips only run on the best tides each month of the season and are limited to 15 trips each year.
They often book out up to two years in advance.
