Pure Indulgence - Samoa - Samoa
Samoa is located east of the international date line and south of the equator, 4400kms from Sydney. There are nine islands in the group with the two larger islands of Upolu and Savaii. Upolu is the most populated island with the capital of Apia located on the north coast and Faleola International Airport to the west.
In Samoa you’ll discover islands of beauty, sun, sand and sea. It is a place where people and nature live hand in hand, where the environment is unspoiled, safe and clean and where you can leave behind those busy modern lifestyles. The beautiful islands offer the perfect holiday for visitors who enjoy the sun, sand and sea, but also want to experience more. For the adventurous, perhaps sea kayaking, hiking and rainforests or deep sea game fishing. The hustle and bustle of a South Pacific city can be found in Apia with its colourful market place, interesting shops, many restaurants and bars, old German colonial buildings and especially the Robert Louis Stevenson Museum at Vailima. Stevenson and his wife Fanny are buried on Mt Vaea, overlooking Apia. You can take a 45-minute hike up the hill to visit their graves, and enjoy the breathtaking view of Apia and its surroundings.
More exotic development is looming up. The new stylish Aggie Grey’s Lagoon Beach Resort and Spa, opened in the first week of July 2005 as a 140 deluxe room property with a five-star rating.
Samoa is proud of its unique culture, which you can experience when you visit our villages. Our national motto is “Samoa is found on God’, and you will see many church buildings of different Christian denominations throughout the country. Sunday is a special day for worship and rest.
On Samoa, we look forward to welcoming you to our shores – the Treasured Islands of the Pacific.
